With a Multi question, the respondent can select any number of answers from the answer list. This could for example be the types of products he/she has tested or heard about. The answer list can be of any size.
In the Survey Tree toolbox, the object looks as shown below. In this case the question is asking the respondent which cars he/she has test-driven - .

You can convert a Multi question to a Single, Ranking, Open Text List or Numeric List if you need to; to do so right-click on the object in the Survey Tree and select Convert to. The various properties and settings available for this form are listed in the Properties page (go to Question Properties Overview for more information).
