For most surveys you would probably want all the questions to have the same look and feel, so you would set up the "default" skin as you wish the questions to look, and use that default throughout the survey (go to Editing a Question Skin for more information). However should you wish to display one or more questions differently, you can set up additional Question Skins and then apply a specific Question Skin to an individual question under the properties for that question (go to General for more information). If no particular question skin is specified in the properties for a question, then that question will automatically follow the look and feel defined by the default skin.
The properties (position, color, font etc.) for each item in the question skin, including the background, are defined by that item's HTML Style (go to About HTML Styles for more information).
